Loving The Netherlands!

January 30, 2012
Hello from The Netherlands!! We are having such a great time so far! Erik and I spent a couple nights in Amsterdam when we arrived; what a wonderful city! We were able to explore a little and also sleep and settle in before beginning the tour.
I had a wonderful gig at In The Woods on Saturday night- what a wonderful venue with great people who made Erik and I feel at home right away. So much fun. Yesterday was a wonderful afternoon, a cozy House Concert with our new friends in Ter Aar, full of wonderful people, good laughs, and connection through music... and on we go!

Gratitude!

November 28, 2011
Thanksgiving flew by like a bird; Erik and I spent ours in the red rock desert of southern Utah on a camping and climbing trip. So I am wishing you a belated Thanksgiving, and could not let it pass by without expressing the extreme gratitude that I feel for all of this: for all the open arms and doors, and for all the open hearts that have so graciously received mine. In sharing music with all of you, the biggest gift I have received is the way that so many of you have taken the time, and been courageous enough, to share your own journeys with me, even the hard parts. I cannot adequately express how thankful I feel for all of it, but it has been an enormous gift that you have given me, and I am continuously grateful for how it shows me this: that my heart's mix of quirkiness and dreaminess and joy and sadness and love and so many other things that want to be heard in a song is not so completely different from yours. Thank you for sharing this with me.

Folk Charts and More!

December 9, 2010
Through most of November, I've been sending out the CD to Folk DJ's all over the country, and even to a few overseas, and have been overwhelmed and grateful for how supportive the Folk DJ community has been! I'm so excited to share that Words Through the Seasons charted on the Folk Charts for the month of November at #34!
Also, a short review of the album by Hearth Music's Devon Leger was recently published by Victory Review Music Magazine, which is based in Seattle. I've been very grateful for all of this support from the folk community, and wanted to share all the good news.
If anyone is interested in ordering the CD as a gift for someone for the holidays, I'm following the lead of a couple of my music friends who are offering to gift wrap and ship to address of your choice. Just follow the "Purchase CD's" link to order it on paypal and under special instructions ask for gift wrap and include what you'd like the "to/from" to say. Or just email me and let me know.
Hope everyone is having a happy December!
FAR-West, Lyrical Venus, and KRCL
-
November 1, 2010
Had so much fun at the Folk Alliance Region-West (FAR-West) Conference Oct 21-24. This was my first regional conference and it was so amazing to see what is going on folkwise all over the west. I played some showcases, went to some great panels and workshops, and made lots of new folkie friends. A slice of heaven.
I've also had a couple of cool radio spots recently. On Tuesday, October 26, I had an interview with Heather Miller-Rodriguez of Lyrical Venus Radio, a station that focuses on women singer-songwriters. So much fun! The interview should be up on the archives at some point.
Also, Last night local artist Shaney McCoy and I shared a live performance/ song swap and interview on KRCL, our local Community Radion Station here in Salt Lake, with Mark Cantor on the Fret-n-Fiddle Show. We had a blast-- I couldn't have asked for a better Halloween evening. We were there promoting the upcoming IAMA songwriter-in-the-round that is happening this Friday-- check out my calendar page for details!
And Thanks Heather and Mark!

Portland Fun
-
September 24, 2010
Just got back from a great trip to Portland! I played at the Portland Center for Spiritual Living, a vibrant and beautiful spiritual community, and In Other Words Bookstore, which is the country's last surviving non-profit feminist bookstore. Great fun. What a wonderful city Portland is; I was able to visit with some great new friends, and to reconnect with an old friend I hadn't seen in years. Got to walk in some moss-covered woods with huge, thick trees, ferns, and wet soil. Thankful for the journey and for all the beautiful people I met, connected with, and re-connected with there...
Words Through The Seasons is off to duplication!

September 10, 2010
Hooray! So excited that Words Through The Seasons, my new CD, is off to duplication. Thanks so much to everyone who has been involved in getting this project to that point. Pre-orders are still available, but in a different format than before since we can't add anyone else's name to the cover at this point. But all pre-orders placed include free shipping and are still much appreciated!! Hope everyone is enjoying the start of the cooler weather and the promise of autumn in the air....
Pre-orders extended
-
August 26, 2010
This really wasn't a gimmick. Just a case of running a bit behind on the design work, so I'm not taking down the pre-order button yet. We are getting there, though! You will be the first to know when we get to duplication. So feel free to pre-order if you still want to!
Amazing Song School and Pre-orders Ending Soon!
-
August 18, 2010
Hello Friends! I am just getting back from Lyons, CO from a week-long Song School in conjunction with Folks Fest. What an incredible adventure! This song school featured teachers like David Wilcox, Darrell Scott, and Steve Seskin (I know). I had heard about it for years and decided to make it out this year. What an incredible journey it was to be among so many other people who are so passionate about songwriting and to get so many perspectives from different teachers. I know that my experiences there will continue to teach me for a long time. In addition to the Song School, this was my first Folks Festival. This is the largest folk gathering I have ever been to. A self-professed "folk geek", I had the most amazing feeling of Community among the thousands of people singing every word with John Prine and other heroes of mine. Now I'm back home, playing catch-up and getting everything ready for the CD to go to duplication! As planned, I mastered the CD at Airshow Mastering while I was in Colorado, and am so freakin' excited for how it has turned out!!
I'm working on getting the design work together, so I need to stop taking pre-orders in the current form within the next couple days. I can still take the straight order for the CD after this, but I'll have to finish the credits that will go into the CD. So, if you are still interested in donating at the level where your name will be listed in the CD ($50 or more), I would love it! Just make sure you place an order soon on the "buy" page if you want to be involved at this level. I had a couple issues with the pay pal links not working and all of it should be working well now (although apparantly if you are using Internet Explorer's newest version they recommend switching to Firefox or Mozilla or another browser if you get an error message). Thank you SO much to all of my "pre-order angels" who have wanted to be involved with the CD in this way- I have been SO amazed and so touched by the support from these preorders, and I can't wait to get you the final copy.
